Colorado Convention Center
The inaugural Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Conference (RMECC) was launched in April 2011 with more than 2,000 attendees and 170 workshops featuring 300-plus presenters. The early childhood community — along with numerous sponsors, exhibitors, presenters, and volunteers — enthusiastically embraced the conference through their attendance and support.
RMECC 2013 expanded both the scope of the conference as well as the spectrum of its stakeholders. Conference attendees included professionals from the business, policy and education communities, and within early education the participants represented the broad spectrum of directors, administrators and teachers. The second RMECC also realized increased attendance from all five neighboring states to Colorado — Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Additionally, the conference hosted 74 exhibitors and was supported by 14 sponsors and two media outlets.
The support for and response to RMECC 2016 continued to verify that this two-day event fulfills a valuable role in the early childhood community. The collaboration of the partnering organizations allowed the conference to bring nationally-renowned speakers and experts to the Colorado Convention Center, thereby giving early childhood professionals access to a high caliber of professional development. Through conference evaluations, 95% of respondents indicated that the speakers were informative, 97% of respondents indicated that workshops were relevant, and 97% of respondents indicated that they would translate what they learned into concrete classroom practice.
